Humanitarian Leadership Programme and Programme de Leadership Humanitaire

We are pleased to launch the opening of applications for the 9th intake of the Humanitarian Leadership Programme/Graduate Certificate of Humanitarian Leadership (HLP) in partnership with Save the Children Australia and the 1st intake of the francophone course Programme de Leadership Humanitaire (PLH) in partnership with IRIS and ACF. We are now inviting suitably qualified humanitarian professionals from around the world, across all relevant sectors to apply. Senior leadership from local or national organisations are encouraged to apply and we would call on international agencies to sponsor some of those applications.

The 8-month academic accredited course is comprised of 4 units: 2 online and 2 residential. The anglophone HLP residential units are delivered in Melbourne, Australia and Semarang, Indonesia. The francophone HLP/PLH residential units will be delivered in Paris, France and Dakar, Senegal.

Successful applicants will need to demonstrate that they have:

•         At least five years experience working with recognised national and international non-governmental organisations, UN Agencies, private sector organisations or relevant government bodies;
•         A minimum of three years in a senior managerial role;
•         A strong desire to develop their leadership skills in order to make a positive contribution to the future of the sector;
•         Strong written and verbal language communication skills (English level equivalent to 6.5 IELTS and French level equivalent to DALF C1).

We continue to offer all students part-scholarships for the Anglophone HLP thanks to the ongoing support of the IKEA Foundation, which builds on an initial investment from the Australian Government Aid Programme. This ranges from a 22%-58% subsidy on the University’s full fees depending on circumstances of the applicant. For the francophone HLP/PLH, we have part scholarships available for a number of students.

Places on the course are limited. All applications will go through a selection process to ensure students are able to succeed at the required learning level. You will find attached an information pack outlining the courses schedule, content, fees and other relevant information for both the Francophone and Anglophone HLP courses.
